Master Bathroom

It is amazing to see what a difference a coat of paint makes!!  This before and after Master Bath transformation was unbelievable to see how easy it was to make this space beautiful, and it turned out better than I had expected!  We took the pea green paint off the walls and replaced it with   Ballet White by Benjamin Moore, as well as painted  the 6 foot vanity.  We replaced one of  the “high hats” with this gorgeous chandelier and added a  new updated lighting fixture above the new and improved 48″ medicine cabinet.  By also adding some beautiful show towels, and a fluffy white  rug,  this dull Master Bath turned  into a serene, glamorous and  invitingly beautiful sanctuary, making it one of the best rooms in the house!

Additional Bedroom

Home DecorMurphy BedAdditional BedrromThis beautiful open space accompanies  a lovely sized Living Room,  an additional Study, and also converts into a  an Additional Bedroom.  If you are in need of a part time  Bedroom, this a great solution and an amazing use of space.  We built  a track under the crown molding,  and added Four Doors that could slide closed and open at any given time, to create a private wall for the Bedroom.  When the Doors are opened, the space functions as a  Beautiful Study and Lovely Living Room.

Holy Windows!

Windows

Silhouettes are designed to put you in control of the amount of natural light that comes in, with beautiful effects.

Hunter Douglas 3 inch White Silhouettes keeps out 89% of UV sun protection, not to mention that they are absolutely GORGEOUS!!  They are pricey, but well worth it!  The top row of window treatments are motorized, (cause no one could reach them), and the bottom row are not .  These shades protect the floor from weather bleaching, your furniture, and will also allow you to relax, watch TV or enjoy a drink at he bar without the sun glare.  They are able to softly filter out brightness and transform harsh exterior light by diffusing it.  Silhouette window treatments  magically float between two sheers, diffuse harsh sunlight, and are just simply beautiful.  Just tilt the vanes to achieve your desired level of light and privacy spreading it evenly throughout your room, so you can maximize daylight hours and reduce your need for artificial light.

“There are several elements of design that interior designers use according to some basic principles to create spaces that satisfy the functional and aesthetic goals of a problem. These design elements and principles are used by painters, graphic designers, sculptors, and other visual artists.”

1. Formlinear, flat, round, curved, cylindrical, square……all types of forms make up interior spaces.

2. Scale – “the relative size of something as related to another element of known size”

3. Color – color can be a powerful design tool and is “one of the most dominant perceptions of the physical world”

4. Texture – adds another layer to the complexity of a space, can be tactile or just visual

5. Pattern – the repetition of a decorative motif or image

6. Light – light affects all of the above, how we perceive objects and spaces

The unique combinations created when these elements are combined are endless.

Kitchen Ideas

Turquoise Glass Kitchen

The Kitchen is the focal point of most homes.  Adding style and drama to your kitchen is easy with a beautiful colorful backsplash, especially when adding it to a  Black and White Kitchen.  The Colored Back Splash will bring out the drama and style of your  Kitchen, and add Pizzazz to the existing space.   If you have a small kitchen, consider incorporating shimmering tiles to open up  the space up. Just like a mirror, the brilliant sheen of these Turquoise Glass subway tiles reflects light and makes the space feel more open.

A vibrant Turquoise hue adds a  dash of drama to this predominantly beautiful colorful back splash and makes this small space much more interesting.
